Debra Cowan left her job as a California middle school teacher in 1997 and went to live in Edinburgh, Scotland for six months where she learned the art of un-accompanied singing. Upon returning to the US she began traveling across New England performing at open mics within 100 miles of her home in Springfield, Massachusetts. Two decades later, she is a full time performer with a refreshing stage presence. Her four recordings and a collaboration with musician John Roberts have garnered world wide acclaim. She tours extensively in the UK and North America.
